Under the auspices of the Consortium and the USU Colleges of Engineering and Natural Resources, a pilot space-related curriculum was created in information data fusion.
Both the high student and faculty interest and broad applicability of the field are much greater than expected.
The initial thrust is in remotely-sensed image data fusion with focus on infrared and visible imaging, synthetic aperture radar and lidar/ladar. To date, over 40 student papers have been generated and will soon be accessible from this page. Partnershipping with NASA and other federal centers is being pursued, leading to additional funded graduate research opportunities. This thrust is being led by Drs. Doran Baker, Douglas Ramsey, David Long, Robert Pack and Jacob Gunther and their graduate students.
The Rocky Mountain Space Grant Consortium is funded through a NASA Training Grant
