Here are 3 Comet Holmes images taken a few days apart. The comet had an incredible outburst on 24 October '07 and brightened by a factor of nearly a million (to well into the visible range) within a very short time. Since that time the dust cloud surrounding the comet has expanded greatly and at this writing remains well within the visible range. All images courtesy of Glenn Allred.
