Here are 3 Comet Holmes images taken a few days apart.
The comet had an incredible outburst on 24 October '07 and brightened by a factor of nearly a million (to well into the visible range) within a very short time.
Since that time the dust cloud surrounding the comet has expanded greatly and at this writing remains well within the visible range.
