Unique features of our consortium are that from the outset, we included Affiliates in more than one State, hence the name selected, and we have always operated with Co-Directors due to the shared heavy need for donations of time and support.

The Rocky Mountain NASA Space Grant Consortium has formulated its vision, mission, goals, and objectives to be consistent with those of NASA and its Office of Space Science Education/Public Outreach.
The Objectives of the Consortium as part of its Guidance Plan were adopted five years ago and are updated by the Consortium Board of Trustees as appropriate at each Annual Meeting. In summary form, these objectives are:

  • Develop and maintain a mutually-supportive working relationship with NASA Centers.
  • Administer a Consortial Space Grant Program according to a Guidance Plan that reflects NASA strategic interests, as described in (1) the NASA Strategic Plan, (2) the OSS/EO Strategic Plan, and (3) the NASA Headquarters Space Grant Strategic Plan.
  • Achieve diversity of participants in the Consortium.
  • Provide timely and complete responses to requests from NASA Headquarters.
